The Calculator Amount Keypad

Last updated: 2026-10-27

Money Tracker replaces the phone keyboard with a four-function calculator, because the amount you want to record is often the result of a small sum: two purchases, a split bill, a tip added to a total.

A live expression preview

Tap the amount field and the keypad opens with an expression line above the digits. Type 12.50 + 8.40 and you see 20.90 as you go, not after you commit. The four functions - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division - are there when you need them and invisible when you don't.

Send the result to the form

Once the expression is right, send the value to the transaction form. The keypad closes, the amount is filled in, and you are already at the field where the transaction actually needs you. Long arithmetic that would be tedious on a phone keyboard becomes one continuous motion, with no switching between a calculator app and the tracker.

Nothing is lost on cancel

The keypad is a way of entering a number, not a separate app with a history. Closing it without sending leaves the transaction form exactly as it was.

Works for every transaction

The same keypad is used whether the transaction is an expense, an income, or a transfer between two of your accounts, so the entry routine never depends on the type of record.
