Images too large to send, eating up photo library space, hitting upload limits — compression is a daily essential for image work. Image Converter gives you fine-grained quality control, shrinking files dramatically while keeping the picture close to the original.
Nine Presets Plus a Free Slider
The app offers nine common presets — 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 — covering every scenario from extreme compression to archival quality:
- 10–30: Extreme compression. Best for screenshots and pure-text images. Files can shrink down to a few dozen KB.
- 40–60: The everyday sharing range. Quality loss is acceptable and file size drops sharply.
- 70–80: The universally recommended range. The best balance between quality and size.
- 90: Near-lossless. Ideal for important photos and archival material.
If none of the nine presets feels right, drag the quality slider from 1 to 99, or type an exact value (such as 65 or 75) into the custom field.
Compare the Compression Result in Real Time
As soon as you pick an image, the app immediately compresses it at the current quality and shows the result:
- Original size: Shown on the left, in KB.
- Compressed size: Shown on the right.
- Compression ratio: Displayed as a percentage so you can see how much was saved.
The compressed result refreshes in real time as you drag the slider. What you see is what you get — confirm it looks good, then save.
Compression Stays on Your Device
The entire compression process runs locally on your device. The original image is never uploaded, and the compressed result is delivered through the system share sheet, so you can save it straight to the Files app, your photo library, or anywhere else.
