Multi-track audio editor
A recording, a song, a podcast - more often than not you're not starting from scratch, you're stitching together pieces that already exist and shaping them. The multi-track editor drops those pieces onto one shared timeline and lets you adjust each track on its own.
How the timeline works
You can place multiple audio clips at once, each on its own track. Tracks stack vertically; the horizontal axis is time.
- Trim - A clip has a handle on each end. Drag the start, drag the end, throw away what you don't want.
- Split - Cut one clip into two at any time point and edit each part separately.
- Rearrange - Drag clips within a track or across tracks to reorder them.
- Speed - Continuous slider from 0.25x to 4x. Slow down or speed up.
- Reverse - One tap to flip playback. Handy for transition sound effects.
Enhancement effects
Each clip can have its own stack of effects, in any order:
- Channel split / merge - Pull stereo apart into mono, or merge mono into stereo
- Noise reduction - Tame floor and ambient noise
- Voice enhance - Bring out vocal frequencies, soften the backing
- Normalize - Align loudness across clips
- Stereo widening - Open up the soundstage
Effects stack, and the order changes the result - drag them around and listen to find what works.
Drafts save automatically
The parameters from trimming, speed, reverse, and enhancement are written into the local draft as you drag. Switch screens and come back - your settings are still there. Drafts live entirely on your iPhone; uninstalling the app deletes them all.
The source file doesn't move
Everything that happens on the timeline happens inside the app's sandbox directory. The original audio is never touched - keep the source, use the new version, whatever you want.
Export
Before exporting you can preview the whole thing inside the app. After export, the new file lands in the app's sandbox with a new name and a prompt asks you to "Save to Files" to place it. Output formats: MP3, WAV, FLAC, or OGG.
